This is my father's great-grandfather, my great-great-grandfather. He married Susan Clark on June 25, 1854 in Clark County, Missouri. He was the father of nine children and he and Susan raised them on the farm they were all born on in Athens, Clark Co., Missouri. George fought in the Civil War for the state of Iowa because it was closer than anywhere in Clark Co. He joined the Union Army in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He was a farmer by trade, farming on the family farm, once owned by his father-in-law, William Clark. George's wife Susan Clark Anthony was, also, born on this farm. George Norman and Susan Anthony are buried in a family cemetery found in a group of trees behind the house on the family farm.
