Ossie Mae Gilmore

Ossie Mae Desrow Gilmore died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, in a local hospital.

Services will be 11 am Saturday at New Light Baptist Church.

Ms. Gilmore was born in Waxahachie, TX.

She moved to Abilene, TX; in 1930 and married Charles (CL) Gilmore, Sr., here in 1939. He died in 1986.

Ms. Gilmore worked in the cafeteria at First National Bank of Abilene, TX; for more than 20 years and was a member of the Federation of Black Women's Club and New Light Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Dolores Jean Gilmore Sloan of Abilene, TX; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two stepsisters, Betty Gray of Abilene, TX; and Vivian Griffin.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Gilmore, Jr., and Billy Howard Gilmore.

Rev. Leo Scott officiating.
Burial in Masonic Cemetery.
Services are directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 pm Friday at the funeral home 242 Orange.
