Estillee Jackie Rogers, 82, of Orange Park, died Wednesday, February 2, 2005, at Roberts Care Center after an extended illness.
Estillee (Jackie) Rogers was born in Green Cove Springs, Florida. She was the daughter of Leila Pearl Blitch Long Brooker and Dewey Ellis Brooker. She is predeceased by a half sister Georgie Theodore Long Pool. She is survived by her daughter Jane Pearl Conely Ridley Love, a grandson Jeremy Quentin Love and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Willies Love, and two great-grandsons, Nolan Thomas Love (5) and William Paul Love (4mo) of Green Cove Springs, Florida. She is also survived by her half niece Elizabeth Ann Pool Martin, widow of Dr. Mitz McDowell Martin of Easley, South Carolina.
Jackie Rogers was the granddaughter of William Henry and Estillee Elizabeth hall Blitch of Middleburg, Florida. She was the great-granddaughter of Elijah and Sara Zeterough Pace Blitch of Orange Springs, Florida.
She graduated from Clay County High School in 1939 and later completed Beautician School in southern Florida. She worked at the Clay County Court House for 10 years as a deputy clerk in the Clerk of the Court License office.
She was predeceased by her three husbands, John Conely, father of her only child, Jimmy Ridley who later adopted her daughter and Paul Rogers a former submariner and police officer in Green Cove Springs, Florida.
She was cremated and the ashed were spread over the St. John's River. Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home and Crematory in Palatka, Florida handled the arrangements.
She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Green Cove Springs, Florida. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's or to a charity of one's choice. No memorials or services are planned.
