ROYSE--Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Royse passed away at the home of her son four miles north of Howard, December 5, 1940, at the age of 76 years, 1 month, and 6 days.
She was born in Franklin county, Kansas, October 29, 1864. When yet a girl she united with the Cresco Christian church, but in 1910 became a member of the New Salem Baptist church. She was active in her church work, and greatly enjoyed these associations, until she became physically unable to participate.
Mrs. Royse is survived by her husband, J. A. Royse and two sons, Homer Conrad of Howard, and Hall Conrad of Racine, Wisconsin. Also one sister, Mrs. E. A. Preston of Howard, and one grandson, Eugene Conrad of Betrand, Nebraska.
Funeral services were conducted in the Moon Funeral Home, Howard, Sunday, December 8th, at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. L. V. Osborne, pastor of the Presbyterian church officiating. Soloist, Darrel Vinette, Accompanied by Miss Helen Thornton. Interment in the Cresco cemetery.
