Charles Ray Goodman of 70 Thirty-sixth St. NW, died March 1, 1992, at his residence following a period of declining health. Born in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Jacob Evan and Pettie Maye Goodman.

A member of Bethel United Methodist Church, he was retired from the composing department at the Hickory Daily Record. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Smith Goodman; a son, Kevin Goodman of Hickory; a brother, Glenn Goodman of Charlotte; a sister, Jean Elmore of Winston-Salem; and a granddaughter, Ashley Goodman of Hickory.

The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Wade Wright at 2 p.m. Wednesday at his church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park.
