A typical yet perfect day would have been spent fishing under a clear blue sky with a few good friends or even alone, and, with his beloved, loyal best friend, Yoda, near him.
James William Brookshire, known to his friends and family as “Jim”, was born in Springfield, Missouri, to Senne and Faye Brookshire. After high school, he joined the US Navy. Jim lived and worked in several places across the United States including California and Hawaii where he sailed boats.
He made Oak Island, Texas his home to retire and where he passed peacefully after a long illness.
He is survived by his wife, Jacquelin Lopez-Brookshire; his daughter, Lisa Manon and granddaughter, Alice; his stepdaughters, Ronda Langly and husband, Jeff and their children, Trace and Erin; Angelina Santa Maria and her daughters, Elisia, Jacquelin and Michelle; Sherry Lewis and husband, Brian and Sherry’s daughter Emily; Georgia Macala and husband, Josh; and Christine Ledo.
He is also survived by his sister Donna Howell; his brother Paul Brookshire; his brother Tim Brookshire and wife, Betty; and his granddaughters Faith and Bethany along with many other friends and family members.
He is predeceased by his father, former Springfield County Judge Senne Brookshire; his mother, Faye Shields Brookshire; his sister, Darlene; his brother, Senne; his son, Army Major Sid Brookshire; and his daughter, Debbie Kay.
All arrangements are being handled by the Neptune Society of Houston; Jim is being cremated with ashes to be scattered at a later date in the Pacific Ocean.
