The funeral of Miss LAURA CATHERINE AHALT, daughter of the late Joshua and Catherine Maught Ahalt, Burkittsville, took place Tuesday with services in the Lutheran church. Interment was in the Burkittsville cemetery. Pallbearers were: James Fox, Samuel Zecher, Clarence Highman, Charles S. Huffer, Milton Pfeiffer and Grayson Bowlus.
Miss Ahalt died Sunday morning after a year's illness from paralysis, aged 78 years. She is survived by a brother, John M. Ahalt, and a sister, Miss Mary A. Ahalt, both of Burkittsville.
A sister, Mrs. J.J. Shenk and her husband, Mr. Shenk, lost their lives when a tornado swept this section last May, destroying their home, near Frederick.
