A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on April 11 at the Eugene Masonic Lodge for Alfred "John" Lovelace of Eugene, who died March 25 of congestive heart failure. He was 73.
He was born Sept. 4, 1935, in Yoncalla to Dennis and Annie Lovelace. He married Jacqueline "Jackie" Clearman on July 2, 1955, in Drain.
He was a project supervisor for Armstrong and Silvis, which became Columbia Engineering.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Diane Porter and Marilyn Winter, both of Eugene, and Charmaine Haden of Brush Prairie, Wash.; three sisters, Denise Kellenbeck and Leta Neiderheiser, both of Grants Pass, and Mary Hansen of Madras; two brothers, Kelly of Pleasant Hill and Bill of Grants Pass; and eight grandchildren. A brother, Harry, died previously.
Arrangements by Applegate Memorial Cemetery in Yoncalla. Remembrances to Shrine Children's Hospital in Portland or Hospice of Sacred Heart.
