Willie Esther Craig, 98, of Eldon passed away peacefully the morning of December 23, 2015 at her home. She was born on August 29, 1917 in Western Grove, Arkansas, the daughter of William and Arkadelphia
(Faught) Adams, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage on September 12, 1933 in Arkansas to Archie Benton Craig, who preceded her in death.
Willie was a very successful woman. She was a pastor’s wife and attended to the daily needs and wants of her husband and children. She also ministered to all those in need and helped to organize the first Women’s Association of the Church of God 7th Day. She loved to quilt, bake and do many other things. She was a very organized person. She gave leadership in the Biblical understanding and Spiritual experience gave her children acquaintance with the presence of the Almighty Father.
She is survived by her children: William F. Craig of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Wanda C. (Clarence) Gitthens of Eldon; four grandchildren: Russell Craig Taylor, Deborah Ann Mendes, Richard Todd Craig and Lawrence Craig; three step-grandchildren: Sharon Gitthens, Steven Gitthens and Andrew Gitthens and many great grandchildren and great step-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Millard-Rekus Family Funeral Chapel. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Millard-Rekus Family Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Eldon City Cemetery.
