Services were held Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home in Mount Union. Officiating was the Rev. Rayvon Hilliard with interment following in Saltillo Cemetery.
Born July 10, 1902, in Saltillo, he was the son of Charley and Nancy (Cornelius) Snyder. He was united in marriage with A. Jane Fink on Nov. 14, 1923, in Altoona.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Mayward E. and Leroy of Silverford Heights, Charles H. of Robstown, Texas, Dale C. of McVeytown R.D., four daughters, Mrs. Edgr (Lois) Sanders of Mount Union, Mrs. John (Loretta) Atherton, of Shirleysburg R.D., Mrs. William (Anna) Atherton of Silverford Heights, and Mrs. Earl (Judy) McConaughay of Mapleton R.D., 32 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by one son and daughter and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
A member of the First United Methodist Church, Mount Union, he had been employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad for 20 years before beginning his own business in heavy equipment operation and coal delivery until his retirement in 1971.
