She had 4 brothers: James Henry, John William, Joseph Clayton, and Robert Granville; 2 sisters: Susan Ann and Nancy Jane Brown (nee Curl); 2 half-brothers, Noah Curl and William Welch ; and 1 half-sister, Mary Ann Manuel (nee Curl).
She married Charles Woodford Curl on 14 Jan 1892 and they had 5 children: Caruth Emmet, Cuba Mae Hardaway (nee Grant), Leland Thomas, and Gladys Jewell Forgey (nee Grant).
She was a long time member of the Fair Play Baptist Church where her funeral was held. She was buried next to her husband at the Lindley Prairie Cemetery in Cedar County, Missouri.
