James Walter McCraw, 79, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2015.

He was born January 30, 1936 to John and Arcie McCraw.

He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. James worked at Little Rock Fire Department for forty-three years and retired as Captain. He was known around the fire station for his good cooking, especially pies. He enjoyed gardening and shared his vegetables with his friends and neighbors. He was also an avid deer hunter and enjoyed fishing. He served as president of the Whitewater Deer Club. He earned the triple trophy award for many years. He was always busy helping other people. He will be missed by many whom he helped keep their lawn equipment running and doing home repairs.

He was preceded in death by parents; brother, Albert and sister, Lucille.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Sammie; two sons, James R. McCraw (Donna) Houston, Texas, Philip McCraw (Michele) Little Rock; granddaughter, Farah Milota (David) Las Vegas, Nevada; grandson, Nick McCraw (Amy) Bishop, Texas; four great-grandsons, Travis and Tyler Milota, Ryan and Logan McCraw; brothers, John of Grady, William (Carol) Winnsboro, Texas; sisters, Marie Dimbleby, Upland, California, Ellen Blood, Harrisonville, Missouri, Louise Howell (Homer) Lonoke, Rosalie Singleton (Phillip) Little Rock, Edna Kelley (Charles) Winslow.

Funeral will be at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR (501-224-8300) at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 5, 2016 with Reverend Ed Hinkson officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday at the funeral home.
