Dorothy was born October 28, 1937 near Scales Mound, Il., the daughter of Wilbur and Rosalia (Kuhl) Musselman. She attended Hanover schools until 1954. Dorothy lived with her parents until 1995 when she moved to Rainbow Ridge Group Home in Stockton, Illinois. She later lived in Dixon and Amboy group homes, and most recently in the Lena Living Center. Dorothy worked at the Jo Daviess County Workshop while living in Stockton.
She was a member of the Hanover United Presbyterian Church and the Women’s Association and sang in the church choir for many years. Dorothy will always be remembered for her gentle personality and her sweet smile.
Dorothy is survived by her sister, Patsy Geiger of Hanover; two nieces, Suzanne (Scott) Taylor of Bozeman, Mt., and Molly (Jim) Ingraffia of Chicago, Il.; one great-niece, Molly Taylor of Bozeman, Mt.; and three great-nephews, Andy and Joey Ingraffia of Chicago, and Cameron Taylor of Bozeman, Mt. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James and her brother-in-law, Nelson Geiger.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. January 2, 2016 at Hanover United Presbyterian Church with Pastor Cathy Morris officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. January 2, 2016 prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover. A memorial fund has been established in Dorothy’s memory.
