Mrs. Andrew Hanson Funeral Held At Six Mile Grove

Funeral services for a Lyle Resident, Mrs. Andrew Hanson Sr., 70, were held Saturday, August 16 at Six Mile Grove Lutheran church with the Rev. Einar Unseth officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Hanson died August 14 at St. Olaf hospital, Austin.

Anna Wortz, daughter of William and Diane Wortz was born May 15, 1905 in Meeker county, Minn.

January 28, 1925 she was united in marriage to Andrew Hanson and was employed at Powers and the YMCA in Minneapolis before moving to Lyle. Five daughters and three sons were born to them.

Survivors are her husband, Andrew; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Andeleen) Petranek and Mrs. Walter (Mabelene) Sage of Owatonna, Minn.; Mrs. Max (Arville) Ellis of Lyle; Mrs. Wayne (Phyllis) Fossey of St. Ansgar; and Mrs. Larry (Beverly) Stacker, Young America, Minn.; two sons, Ardel of Braintree, Mass. and Andrew C. Jr. of Northwood, one step daughter-in-law, Mrs. Richard (Bene) Hanson of Garden, Grove, Calif.; 23 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. George (Elizabeth) Arnes; Mrs. Agnes Dahl and Mrs. Raymond Murphy and one brother, Conrad Wortz, all of Minneapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Arlow Marcel; four grandchildren, one brother, Noble; a step-son, Richard; and one sister, Mrs. Alfred (Maggie) Dahlin.

She was a member of Six Mile Grove Lutheran church, a past president of the ALCW and at the time of her death a member of Circle #6.
