Walter Leidall Funeral Held

Funeral services for Walter J. Leidall 76, a lifelong area farmer, were held Wednesday, May 9th at Our Savior's church, Lyle, with the Rev. M. Johnson officiating. Interment was in Six Mile Grove cemetery. Military rites were conducted by American Legion Post 105 of Lyle. Mr. Leidall died May 18 at Veterans hospital, Minneapolis.

Walter Leidall, son of Knut & Emma Knutson Leidall was born November 17, 1892 in Mitchell county on the parental Leidall farm that he lived his entire life on three miles east of Lyle.

He was baptized and confirmed at the Six Mile Grove Lutheran church, and received his rural education in the Union township No. 5 school in Mitchell county.

After serving two years in the Army in World War I, he was married to Myrtle Naverseth on February 11, 1920 at the Lutheran parsonage in Lyle. This union was blessed with three children.

He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church, a member of the Lutheran Brotherhood, & a 50-year member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; two sons, Lavern & Norman of Lyle and one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Avis) Johnson, Austin; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Melvin (Frances) Anderson, Austin; four brothers, Leonard, Lyle, Robert & Oscar, Marion, N. D. and Clifford of Long Beach, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Willie, Albert and Fred.
