He was born in Carroll county, Ind., March 20, 1859, and came to Kansas in 1880 at which time he entered the employment of the A. T. & S. F. Ry. Co. for whom he worked up to the time he took sick. He was one of the oldest locomotive firemen in the company’s service and is well known among the A. T. & S. F. Ry. Co.’s employees.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Thomas, and three children, Robert Thomas, Maud E. Thomas and Mrs. Walter J. Arnold.
Funeral services will be held from the house Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock.
