Quincy resident Dennis Charles Allen passed from this life early Saturday morning, December 5, 2015 at Plumas District Hospital at the age of 76.

Born in Livermore, California on September 2, 1939 to the late Harold and Doris (Tadlock) Allen, Dennis and his family moved to the Northeastern California community of Quincy when he was a young child. He attended grammar school and his first two years of high school in Quincy before moving to East Nicholas where he graduated from high school as a member of the "Class of 1957". While attending high school he was a member of both Quincy and East Nicholas High School's Bands as well as lettering in baseball.

Following his graduation he began employment with Standard Oil Company and at this time married Willeta Burt and to this union a son and daughter were born. The marriage later ended in divorce.

Dennis returned to Quincy in 1968 to work for the short line of the Quincy Railroad. Here he became re- acquainted with a former schoolmate Linda Boyd while bowling. The couple were soon united in matrimony in June of 1968 in Reno, Nevada and the family grew to three children and together the family operated the Sears Catalog Store in Quincy. Dennis later went to work for the Plumas County Fair where he rose to the position of Facilities Manager a job he diligently served the residents of Plumas and Sierra County in for some twelve years. After leaving his position at the Fairgrounds Dennis went to work for Quincy Convalescent Hospital again as a Facilities Manager, but with a heart of gold served the residents in any manner he could.

Dennis was a devoted stalwart with the Quincy Elks Lodge # 1884, serving the Lodge in every capacity when called upon over the past thirty years as well as serving as Exalted Ruler twice over. He was a longtime member of the Quincy Lions Club where he is a Past President, and served the community of Quincy as a member of the Quincy Volunteer Fire Department for over thirty years. He is also a former member of the Plumas County Sheriff's Office Reserve's component. Dennis was an accomplished bowler, bowing a number of perfect games. He enjoyed the challenge of golf as well as relaxing fishing.
