Dorothy E. Callahan, 82, of Medway, formerly of Dorchester and Norfolk, passed peacefully in the Medway Country Manor Nursing Home on December 8, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late A. Roger Callahan who passed in 2003.
Born in Quincy, MA on September 24, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Walter A. and Dorothy E. (Calhoun) Helms. Dorothy worked as a receptionist/operator at the former Southward Hospital, retiring in 1998 after 22 years of service. She was a former Chalice lay reader at Epiphany Church in Walpole years ago. She was an avid BINGO player and was an Avon products collector. She was loved by all and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her children; Donald R. Callahan of Franklin, Geraldine L. Callahan of Florida, Gary M. Callahan of Franklin, Charlotte K. Eastman of West Greenwich, RI, Jacqueline M. Lantagne of Norfolk, Joseph C. Callahan of Florida, and Paul W. Callahan of Wrentham, two brothers, Robert P. Helms of New York, her twin Donald F. Helms of North Carolina, two sisters; Charlotte Howard of Norfolk, and Lillian R. Cadieux of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, nineteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held in the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Wrentham . A funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Norfolk Cemetery.
