MRS LUCY COX DINGUS, 69 of Nickelsville, Va died at the Holston Valley Community Hospital Sunday at 5:30 pm.
Surviving are her husband Henry Dingus; two daughters Mrs Willie Salyer of Coeburn, Va and Mrs Jeff Salyer of Nickelsville; four sons, Raleigh and Victor Dingus, of Kingsport, Willard Dingus of Detroit, MI, and Bruce Dingus of Nickelsville; a sister Mrs C.W. Salyer of Wise VA. and two brothers Willie and Elbert Cox of Nickelsville.
Funeral services will be held at the home Tuesday at 2 pm with the Rev R.A. Dingus Officiating. Burial will be in the family cemetery at Nickelsville.
Lucy enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family, making beautiful quilts and needlework. Henry and Lucy boarded school teachers in their home. Funerals were sometimes held in the Dingus home and burial will take place in the Dingus family cemetery on the farm. Lucy's funeral was held at her home. She was buried in the family cemetery but was later moved to Holston View beside Henry.
