Funeral service for Joseph (Joe) Peppers, 79, of Winnsboro, LA will be held at 10 AM Thur., Sept. 7, 2006 in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro with Rev. Marion Collier and Rev. Jimmy Holland. Mr. Lester Thomas, longtime co-worker of Mr. Peppers will also take a part in the service. Interment will follow in Old Bethel Cemetery near Clarks, LA.

Visiting will be held Wed. from 5 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.

He was born to Edwin and Izena McNaughton Peppers on March 7, 1927 and passed from this life Tue., Sept. 5, 2006 in Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro, LA.

Mr. Peppers, an avid deer hunter, retired after 33 years with Northeast LA Power Co-operative as a lineman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wives Nell Peppers and Lavada Peppers, and a son Billy Ray Peppers.

He is survived by his son, Donnie Joe Peppers, and wife Polly, of Winnsboro, LA; daughter-in-law, Pamela Peppers Nobles of Start, LA; sisters, Rose Robinson and husband J. T. of Croville and Ethel Crain and husband Landry of Olla, LA; step-daughter, Martha Niel Lofton of McCall Creek, MS;grandsons, Colby Peppers and wife Amy of Winnsboro, LA and Aaron Peppers of Winnsboro, LA; great-grandson, his "Little Hero" Conner Peppers; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Charles Cruse, Donnie McMurry, Dennis Pylant, Randy Robinson, Billy Sanders and Lester Wallace.

Honorary pallbears will be Mr. Peppers' former and present co-workers at NE LA Power Co-operative.
