He was born in the town of Rantoul on Jan. 18, 1878. He married the late Pollie Dix on April 17, 1906 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Hilbert.
His wife died on October 16, 1956. In April of that year, they celebrated their golden anniversary. For about 45 years Kasper managed the Hilbert Lumber Yard. He retired several years ago and lived in Hilbert until two years ago when he moved to Watertown to live with a daughter.
He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Rex. Draheim, Watertown, a son Gordon of Milwaukee; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and four sisters, Miss Meta Kasper and Miss Gretchen Kasper, both of Milwaukee nd Mrs. Frieda Dickert and Mrs. Melvin Timm, both of Kiel.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Kapitzke Funeral Home, Hilbert by the Rev. martin Schneider, pastor of St. Peter’s Lutheran church. Burial was in Highland Memorial Cemetery, Appleton.
