Virginia Beryl McBeth Northcutt, 87, of Longview, Texas, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015, at Summer Meadows Nursing Home. She was born October 1, 1928, in DeKalb, Texas, to Opal Rainey McBeth and Emil McBeth. She graduated Salutatorian from Naples High School in 1945, and graduated from Mary Hardin Baylor with a degree in elementary education in 1949. After graduation, Virginia moved to Longview, Texas, to begin her teaching career with the Longview Independent School District. She immediately met the love of her life, Roscoe Franklin Northcutt, Jr., who she married on June 10, 1950.

Virginia was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved being surrounded by her family and always put their needs above her own. She also loved teaching and is remembered as being a kind, loving teacher. When she retired from teaching at Mozelle Johnston Elementary School in 1988, she devoted the remainder of her life to caring for her mother and helping chauffer her two grandsons to and from school. Although her time with them was limited, Virginia loved her two great grandchildren. Her greatest joy was celebrating holidays with her family at her side. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents.
