Truman E. KAHLER Jr., 78, passed away on Feb. 4, 2015 with his loving family by his side. Predeceased by son, Lee T. Kahler; his first wife, Marlene Kahler; parents, Truman E. Kahler and Jaffela Jones; brother, Lee T. Kahler; and sisters, Lorena Crabbe, Betty Bridges and Barbara Seitz. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, three children and a daughter in law and beloved granddaughter. He was born in Leck Kill, PA. He retired from the U.S. Air Force following twenty years of service. Truman was involved in the missile program and early computerization. He proudly served at the Pentagon, Vietnam, Thailand, Greenland, and many years at SAC Headquarters in Bellevue, NE. Following his Air Force career, Truman graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. He was a classroom teacher at the elementary level in Bellevue, NE before moving to Plant City, where he taught gifted students at Knights, Forest Hills, and Walden Lake Elementary Schools. After retiring from teaching in 1995, he and his wife, Diana traveled across the country in their RV for the last twenty years.
