Mrs. Nannie Billingsley Staton, daughter of the late Will and Hattie Davis Billingsley departed this life December 25, 1983 at the Anson County Hospital, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
At an early age she confessed Christ and joined the Poplar Spring Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until her death. She was a member of Eastern Star #582.
She united in holy matrimony to Boy Staton who preceeded her in death and to this union eleven children were born, three preceeded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Mary Ann Staton of the home, Hattie J. Huntley Baltimore Md., Mrs. Esther Glenn of Long Island, N. Y.; five sons, Boy Lender and Alexander Staton of Baltimore, Md., Ray and William Staton of Burnsville Community, and James Staton of Midland, N. C.; five daughters-in-laws, one son-in-law, three nephews, five nieces, 31 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
MOTHER
M-is for mother we loved her so.
O-is for others she helped others as well as her own.
T-is for the time she gave to help us all
H-is for happiness that which she showed to everyone.
E-is for every day, for everyday she was grand
R-is for remembrance for we shall always remember MOTHER
