Lois Vaughn Yates Bullard Randolph - age 98, of Lenoir City, passed away peacefully December 22, 2015 at her home surrounded by love.

She was born February 28, 1917 in Athens, TN, Lois was a Christian mother of six, a loving sister to seven siblings, and a child of God. She was a living example of God's love and a willing and humble servant of our Lord for more than 90 years. God's spirit could be seen in her love, patience and kindness toward others. Her word was her bond. To know Lois was to know her love for Christ and her constant prayer life, evident in her actions and speech.

A member of God's church, she attended Bell Avenue Baptist Church. She retired from Lakeshore Hospital, Lois was a teacher, mentor, author, poet and artist.

Our lives will never be the same, yet we rejoice in knowing that she is in the presence of God, as well as family and friends who have gone on before her including her parents, Taylor Preston Vaughn and Myra Catherine Hennessee Vaughn; husband, Leo Andrew Yates, Clarence Sampson Bullard, and Cordell Randolph; son, Edward Yates; daughters, Joyce Cox and Jeanette Cox; daughter-in-law, Betty Yates; sons-in-law, David Donovan and Thomas Duggan; grandson, Randy Spears; granddaughter, Debra Yates Patterson; brothers, Garland (Sarah) Vaughn and Willard (Elizabeth) Vaughn; sisters, Annie (Haskell) Holt, Bertha (Thomas) Gaston, Mellie (Victor) Pirkle, Helen (Doyle) Hill, and Edith (Kenneth) Thomas. Leaving behind to cherish her memories are son, Thomas Yates; daughters, Joan Duggan and Judy (Bill) Smith; daughter-in-law, Ilannie Yates; son-in-law, Phillip Cox; grandchildren, Thomas Yates, Tammy Spears Soles, Robert Mims, Regina Yates, Donna English, David Donovan, Cheri Donovan, Lisa Donovan Thompson, Angelia Duggan Rooks, Billy Smith, Brian Smith, and Jennifer Cox Best; twenty great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank all who have helped make her final journey easier with their prayers, love, support and time spent with her.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 23rd at Bell Avenue Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Junior Gardner and Rev. Eddie Chasteen officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 9:30 Thursday morning and proceed to the Lakeview Cemetery for 10 a.m. graveside services.
