Funeral services for Robert Heller age 76 of Beemer, NE will be on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church- rural Beemer, NE. Interment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Beemer American Legion Hall. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner and will continue on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. The family suggests that memorials be directed to the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, the Good Samaritan Center in Scribner, or Scribner Rescue.

Robert passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015, at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE.

Robert Darold Heller was born on March 21, 1939 south of Wisner, NE to August and Erna (Gaek) Heller. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Beemer, NE. Robert attended Cuming Co. Rural School District #9, St. John’s Lutheran Parochial School, and graduated from Wisner High School in 1956. While in high school, Robert was involved in FFA and was a member of the State Parliamentary Procedure Team. Following high school, he worked as a farmhand for different farmers around Wisner and spent one fall helping his aunt and uncle harvest, while there son was serving in the armed forces.

On October 17, 1964, Robert was united in marriage to Martha Haase at First Trinity Lutheran Church, Altona, NE. The couple farmed and raised livestock south of Wisner.

Robert was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Beemer, served on the County Farm Bureau for many years as treasurer and president, and served for 53 years for Elkhorn Township in the Agriculture Booth at the Cuming County Fair. He and Martha loved to fish. Robert enjoyed playing cards, bingo, doing word puzzles, and watching football games. Robert and Martha took a strong interest in the lives of their nieces and nephews.

Norman and Mary Lou Heller of Fremont, NE
A. Edward and Denise Heller of Wisner, NE
Sister- Judy Patterson of Columbus, NE
Brother-in-law-David Urban of Sheridan, IN
Several nieces and nephews and their families.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, sister-Myrna Urban, sister and husband-Elizabeth and Ross Watchorn, brother-in-law-Ken Patterson, and a niece Amy Heller.
