Mildred Perkins, age 101, La Cygne, Kansas passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Louisburg Health and Rehab.

She was born on October 10, 1914 the daughter of William and Noma Gilmore Umphenour.

She worked in house keeping at the Olathe Hospital before retiring.

She was married to James Perkins who preceded her in death in August of 1970.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter Naoma Morrison, a grand daughter, Sherry, two brothers, Lee and Eugene Umphenour, and three sisters, Ella Holsman, Margie Black, and Betty Johnson.

Mildred was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, La Cygne Christian Church and the Star Valley Club. She is survived by a son Chuck Perkins and wife Pam, two daughters, Pat Berglund and husband Dave, and Janet Cook and husband, Martin, nine grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and thirteen great great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel. Burial in the Pleasanton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to service time at the Chapel. The family suggests contributions to Thayer Park or La Cygne Sr. Citizens. Arrangements: Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel.
