Howard graduated from Friends Bible Academy in Haviland, KS in 1942. Howard was an Army Veteran during WWII where he served in the Philippines and Okinawa. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Wichita in 1950 and a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Oklahoma A&M in 1958.
Howard was employed as a business teacher for public schools for 32 years before retiring in 1984. Howard taught in Derby and South Haven, KS, prior to moving to Topeka in 2004.
He was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church and the Lion’s Club.
Survivors include his brother, Duane C. (Joan) Shufelberger of Topeka, and several nieces and nephews.
