WALNUT – J.W. Wilbanks, 71, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, in Walnut. He was born Oct. 2, 1937, to James Artie and Zelma Wilbanks. He was a member of the Middleton Pentecostal Tabernacle Church for 22 years and a board member of the church. He was a servant to all.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Middleton Pentecostal Tabernacle Church in Middleton, Tenn. The Rev. Jimmy Rich, the Rev. Tony Baker, the Rev. David Nabors and the Rev. George Guy will officiate. Burial will be in the Community Pentecostal Church Cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Tim Wilbanks (Connie) of Walnut and Pastor John Wilbanks (Sally) of Corinth; one daughter, Twana Ray (Steven) of Austin, Ark.; three brothers, Billy Clyde Wilbanks (Polly), Stanley Wilbanks (Debbie) and C.D. Wilbanks (Ricki), all of Walnut; one sister, Dale Buse (Phillip) of Walnut; his grandchildren, Adam Wilbanks, Jake Wilbanks, Hannah Wilbanks, Christopher Ray, Allison Wilbanks, Lydia Ray, Austin Wilbanks and Amanda Ray; and a great-grandchild, Skylar Wilbanks.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Wilbanks; his parents; a sister, Ruth Bell; and a brother, Fagin Wilbanks.

Pallbearers will be Bro. Jerry Swatley, Bro. David Nabors, Roy Gilliam, Jimmy Wilbanks, Bro. Jerry Wilbanks and Bro. Ronald Wilbanks.

Visitation will continue at the church.
