YOUNGSTOWN – Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street in Boardman, for Dorothy “Dot” Gailey, 96, who died Friday afternoon at Assumption Village. Dorothy was born Nov. 14, 1912 in Holidaysburg, (Blair Co.) Pa., a daughter of the late George and Laura Glunt Jackson, and came to this area in 1956. Dorothy had been a cafeteria worker for the Youngstown City Schools for 22 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church and the Trinity Fellowship Senior Group. Her husband, David T. Gailey, whom she married Sept. 26, 1931, died August 1981. She leaves two sons, Edward D.(Patricia) Gailey of Ravenna, and Terry A. (Patricia) Gailey of Youngstown; two daughters, Nancy (Noe) Longoria of Reno, Nev., and Barbara Deibler of Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa.; one brother, Richard G. Jackson of Chambersburg, Pa.; one sister, Bessie Wilt of Altoona, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a son, George A. Gailey; five brothers, Louis, John C., Thomas J., Frank H. and Robert W. Jackson, three sisters, Laura Ritchey, Gertrude Hoover and Caroline Dodson, and a grandson. Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., on Monday at the funeral home. The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman OH 44512.
