RICHMOND, Ind. – Letha “Jane” Barfield, age 90, of Richmond, died Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Forest Park Health Campus. Born June 3, 1925, in Wayne County, Kentucky, to Otha and Linda McClendon Abner, Jane was a resident of Richmond since 1942. She retired in 1989 from Reid Hospital having worked in the surgery pack room of linen services. Survivors include her children, JoAnn (Gary) Arndts, Linda (Allen “Bud”) Lindsey, Melvin (Sheri) Barfield Jr., Harry (Diane) Barfield, and Terry Barfield, all of Richmond; son-in-law, Bill Counceller; grandchildren, Randy, Richard, and Eric Parks, Scott and Lora Ingram, Christopher Ray Arndts, Becky Lindsey, Carla Watts, Matt Lindsey, Adam Barfield, Carly Roberts, Brian and Jeff Barfield, and Dr. Jason Barfield; great-grandchildren, Crystal and Zachary Parks, Mekyla, Austin, Caleb, and Mekynlee Susan Parks, Sean and Rachel Ingram, Hannah Jane Ingram, Kristin Reitenour, Tanner Watts, Matthew Dustin and Manda Lindsey, Cory and Kyle Barfield, and Brooklyn Maja Lindsey; great-great-granddaughter, Lakyn Parks; half-sisters and half-brothers, Mary Jane Perry, Jim (Carol) Abner, Edward Abner, Dorothy (Harley) Foster, Josephine Hester, Phyllis Abner, Delores (William) Keith, Linda (Ralph) Manning, and Eugene (Patty) Abner; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Susan Counceller; granddaughter, Robin Parks; sister, Opal Kreshman; brother, Carl Abner; half-sister, Shirley Burton; and half-brother, Larry Abner. Visitation for Letha “Jane” Barfield will be from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
