FAULKS, Isabel Mary (Kilshaw) We celebrate the life of Isabel Mary Faulks, who lived 90 full years and died late on Sunday evening, November 21st, 2004. Isabel was born on July 29, 1914 in Bloomsbury, Alberta where she grew up, shone at school and helped on the farm of her parents, Thomas and Helen Kilshaw. After a brief stint as a housekeeper and caregiver, she married (Ronald) Stuart Faulks, then a shy young parson. From that moment on she shared his life commitment to Anglican congregations - in Alberta - the Clandonald area, Calder and St. Peter's, Edmonton - and in B.C. - St. John the Divine Central Park, Burnaby and St. David's, Powell River. In retirement they continued church life at Holy Trinity, New Westminster, St. George's, Maple Ridge and St. Matthew's, Abbotsford. A skilled seamstress, she always seemed to be able to find the needle in the haystack, so was renown as a solution finder. She was loved by parishioners and family alike, for her charm, dignity, the warmth of her smile - and of course her lemon meringue pies! Isabel leaves the loving legacy of her family - her husband of 66 years, Stuart; son Eric and his wife Jill; son Lyle and his wife Loralee, and; daughter Joyce and her husband Gordon Ganong; as well as six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn are brother, Jimmy of Barrhead, Alberta; sister, Constance Peake (Frank) of Nepean, Ontario; sister, Marion Engels of St. Albert, Alberta; brother-in-law Dick (Bev) of Victoria, B.C. and many extended family members. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 26th at 1:30 p.m. at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, 2010 Guilford, Abbotsford.
