Obituary from The Canton Daily Register, Canton, IL, May 13, 1910:
Mrs. Amelia M. Heald, wife of C.T. Heald, passed into rest at 12:50 o'clock Friday morning, at her home, 264 South First Avenue. Mrs. Heald had been in poor health for several years, her condition becoming serious in her final illness about four weeks ago. Her malady began with abscess of the liver, and complications followed. Amelia M. Aiken was born May 15, 1834, in Windham, Vt., and was a daughter of David and Zebiah Aiken of that city. Her marriage to C. T. Heald was solemnized at Windham, Feb. 14, 1855, and immediately thereafter they removed to Northfield in the same state, where Mr. Heald was employed for about six months in the general ticket office of the Vermont Central Railroad. From Northfield they went to Burlington, Vt., where Mr. Heald occupied the position of teller in the Commercial bank of that city, and a year later he was called to the position of cashier in the bank of Linden. Later they returned to his old home at Chester, where he was engaged in the mercantile business for about a year and a half, after which he sold his interest to his partner and came west, settling in Canton in May, 1857. In Canton, Mr. Heald was closely identified with the banking business until 1890, in which year they removed to Peoria, where they remained seven years, after which they returned to Canton.
Mr. Heald and six children, out of a family of seven, survive. One daughter Eva May died shortly after the parents came to Canton, aged about 18 months. The living children are Charles P. Heald, who is a member of the firm of Cummings & Anderson of Peoria; Addie W. Heald, who married Newton Wyeth, now of Chicago; Alice Mary Heald, wife of Clarence H. White, a professor in Colby college, at Waterville, Me.; E. A. Heald, cashier of the Canton National bank; Nellie A. Heald, who resides at the parental home; Marion Heald, married to C. W. Gress, who is engaged in the banking business in Cannon Falls, Minn. Mrs. Wyeth and Mrs. Gress are in Canton, having been here several days, and C. P. Heald has recently made several visits to his mother's bedside. There are 13 grandchildren - Edward T., Prescott, Helen and Robert, children of Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Heald; Walter, Lorna and Harold, children of Mr. and Mrs. Newton Wyeth; Donald and Marion, children of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. White; Charles H., Dean A., Mark and Mary, children of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Heald.
Mrs. Heald was a member of the Canton Congregational church from the time of her earliest residence In Canton. She was a faithful, consistent Christian, and in the years prior to her illness was always a zealous worker in all departments of the church's activities. In the church and in the community generally her life and influence were highly valued by all, and to those who were accorded the privilege of intimate association her noble character anal many beautiful personal traits were the source of an esteem that made her greatly beloved by a wide circle of warm friends. By all there is felt keen regret that her life has reached its close, and throughout the city heartfelt sympathy is expressed for the bereaved relatives.
The funeral will be held at the family residence, at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon. The Rev. A. R. Thain will officiate, and interment will be in Greenwood cemetery.

Most published genealogy references to Amelia show her given names as Martha Amelia. All family references however show her given names as Amelia Martha, including her own signature and her grave marker. She obviously preferred Amelia over Martha.
