Dorothy Marion Dickson, 91, of Hagerstown, Md., and formerly of Forestville, Md., passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her daughter and son-in-law.
Born April 14, 1924, in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of late Henry Maurice Boteler and Dorothy Elizabeth Alvey Boteler.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas Dickson Jr., in 1961.
She is survived by daughter, Dorothy P. Virden and her husband, Gerald, of Hagerstown, Md.; son, George Thomas Dickson III and his wife, Theresa, of Mechanicsville, Md.; daughter-in-law, Sally Filipowicz of Watertown, Tenn.; daughter-in-law, Libby Dickson of Lusby, Md.; daughter-in-law, Tina Dickson of Lusby Md.; sister, Gina Lajoy and her husband, Ron, of Florida; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a special niece.
Dorothy was preceded in death by sons, William Robert "Billy" Dickson, Gerald Lee Dickson and John Bernard Filipowicz; sister, Ramona Smith, and brothers, Donald Boteler, Henry "Buddy" Boteler, Paul A. Boteler and Paul E. Boteler.
A private memorial service for immediate family will take place following her burial at Arlington National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband on Dec. 16, 2015, at 1 p.m.
