OLEAN - Lucille M. Beatty, recently of 161 S. 25th St., formerly of Cooper Hollow Road in Allegany, passed away Wednesday (Dec. 16, 2015) at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo.
Born on Nov. 7, 1926, in Carrollton, she was a daughter of Charles and Margaret Moshier Mattocks. On Dec. 1, 1945, at the First Baptist Church in Olean, she married Jack Beatty, who predeceased her April 13, 2002.
Mrs. Beatty was a longtime member of Five Mile Baptist Church in Allegany, where she was very dedicated to the Ladies Missionary Group and was formerly active as a Sunday school teacher as well as with AWANA. Her grandchildren were most precious to her, and she enjoyed reading and crocheting.
Surviving are a daughter, Judith (Karl Turck) Hollowell of Waterloo; three sons, John (Marge) Beatty Jr. of Henderson, Nev., Mark (Emmalinda) Beatty of Lockport and David (Debbie) Beatty of Cuba; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Genevieve Silvis of Smethport, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Lisa Marie Beatty, in 1989; a brother, Edward C. Mattocks; and two sisters, Marie Reed and Viown Work.
Burial will be in Five Mile Cemetery.
