Funeral Services for Sally Marideth Dowden, 89, of Lumberton, TX, will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2015 beginning at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Florien with Bro. Patrick Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Florien Cemetery.
Sally Marideth Dowden was born on Monday, January 11, 1926. She passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015 at her residence in Lumberton, TX.
Sally Marideth Dowden graduated from Beaumont High School in Beaumont, TX. She went to work at Gulf States Utilities upon high school graduation and worked there unitl she retired. After retiring, Sally moved to her family home in Florien, LA and was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Florien. She was also a member of Eastern Star.
She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Beaumont, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Audra Addison Dowden and brother, Grover Addison Dowden.
She is survived by her nieces, Tracie Mayeaux of Lumberton, TX; Laurie Mackan and husband Emmett of Beaumont, TX and Amy Burlison of Fredericksburg, TX; sister-in-law, Jackie Dowden Waldrop and husband John of Beaumont, TX; nine great nieces and nephews; one great great nephew; along with a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Emmett Mackan, Kevin Mackan, Lucas Mackan, Larry Stricklan, Scott Burlison, Jr. and Alex Burlison.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Caleb Mayeaux and Christian Hargraves.
