Marie Morris, 88, of De Leon, went home to her Lord and Savior Thursday, December 17, 2015.
She was born October 13, 1927, in Beattie, Texas, to Roy Butler and Hattie Susan Wright Butler. Marie married her husband of sixty nine years, E.Y. Morris, October 13, 1946, in De Leon.
Marie was a member of St. Joe Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. She was a devoted homemaker for her family. Outside of the home, she worked for Birdsong Peanuts for many years as well as Plemons Drug Store. She enjoyed canning, crocheting, fixing hair, and being outdoors. Marie loved her family immeasurably and was always her happiest while spending time with them. She will be missed by her loving family and many friends.
Marie was preceded by her son, Zack Morris; parents, Roy and Hattie Butler; sister, Juanita Hudson; and brother, Wesley Butler.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 19, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Brother Jackie Auvenshine officiating. Interment followed in De Leon Cemetery.
