Roger Addington, 68 of Brushy Fork of Beefhide passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the Pikeville Medical Center. He was born June 11, 1947 in Pike County to the late Noble Eddington and Etta Mullins Eddington.
Roger was a retired coal miner and a member of the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother; Russell Addington, one sister; Alice Burke and one grandchild; Sarah Chambers.
His survivors include his wife; Daryl Johnson Addington, one son; Roger Shannon (Lisa) Addington of Georgetown, Ky., two daughters; Rhonda (Mark) Brown of Beefhide, Melissa Bentley of Beefhide, five brothers; Carvil Addington of MI., Narvil Addington of Brushy Fork, Elmo Addington of Brushy Fork, Carlos Addington of Beefhide, Dale Eddington of Flemingsburg, Ky., four sisters; Beatrice Akers of Dorton, Von Osborne of Dorton, Marie Stewart of Beefhide, Anita Addington of Shelby Valley, eight grandchildren; Emily (Ron) Corris of New York, Rachel (Evan) Tackett of Beefhide, Zachariah Bentley of Beefhide, Gabriel Brown of Beefhide, Haley Addington of Georgetown, Samuel Brown of Beefhide, Kensington Addington of Georgetown and Audrey Addington of Georgetown.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 11:00 AM at the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church at Beefhide with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Addington, Newsom, Johnson Cemetery at Brushy Fork.
