Catherine “Cathy” M. Orr, 62, of Nichols, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Interment will be in Indian Creek Cemetery, rural Columbus Junction. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Decemer 20, 2015 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Catherine Marie was born on April 28, 1953 in Davenport, Iowa and adopted by Edwin Rinehart and Helen (Askam) Kaalberg. On September 10, 1972 Cathy was united in marriage to Larry D. Orr at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Solon. Cathy was a 1971 graduate of Muscatine High School and had attended Muscatine Community College. She enjoyed fishing, camping, shooting, cooking, spending time with her animals and most of all loved being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Cathy will be deeply missed by her husband, Larry of Nichols; daughter, Christy Orr of Tucson, Arizona and son, Daniel Orr and wife, Heather of Wilton; four grandchildren, Caitlyn Torp of Muscatine, Elizabeth and Phoebe Torp of Tucson and Jared Neubauer of Muscatine; step-brother, Tom Workman of Wilton; and step-sister, Connie Brown and husband, Jim of Wilton.
Cathy was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Kaalberg; sister, Linda Kaalberg; father and step-mother, Edwin and Nina (Workman) Kaalberg; and father and mother-in-law, Wayne and Annette (Hinkley) Orr.
