James Robert Parrish, 82, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away at his residence Wednesday, November 28, 2012. He was born in Emanuel County, Georgia and was the son of the late George Elbert and Queenie Lamb Parrish.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Parrish; a brother, George A. Parrish; and two sisters, Beatrice Youmans and Nadine Turner.

Mr. Parrish is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte Gleeson Parrish; a son, Jeff Parrish and his wife Shana of Easley, SC; and a daughter, Debbie Parrish; step-daughters, Judith and Rich Panico of Athens, GA, Corrie and David Overton of Clarkesville, GA; step-sons, Charles and Nancy Jackson of Athens, GA, Richard and Ann Spears of Clarkesville, GA and James and Juliet Spears of Woodbridge, England. Also surviving are five grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

He was Vice President of the Bank of Clayton for a number of years, was a member of the National Guard and attended Antioch Baptist Church in Mt. Airy, GA.james
