Anne Seerp Anema was born in February 1890 in the by Dutch founded Orange City in the northwestern part of Iowa, son of Jelle Anema and Dirkje Johanna van Os, both born in the Dutch northern province Friesland. He was named after his grandfather Anne Seerps Anema. Anne and Seerp are both Frisian given names for males.

Between 1892 and May 1897 the family Anema moved from Orange City in Iowa to the "Dutch" city of Grand Rapids, located in the western part of Michigan.

In June 1900 Anna [has to be: Anne] Anema (10 y, born February 1890 in Iowa), his father Jella [Jelle] Anema (40, July 1860, Netherland, immigrated in 1889, furniture packer), his mother Dirkje (41, November 1859, Netherland, mother of 3 living children), his brother Gerrard [George] (8, December 1892, Iowa) and his sister Hellegenda [Hillegonda] (3, May 1897, Michigan) were living in Ward 6 of Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan.

About 1906 they moved with many other Dutch immigrant families from Grand Rapids in Michigan to a neighborhood in South Denver in Colorado, which became known as Little Holland.

On 5 June 1917 Andrew Anema (27, unemployed) was living at 1590 So Emerson Street [in the Little Holland neighborhood] in South Denver, Colorado, when he was administrated on a WW I Draft Registration Card. He was tall and stout, had blue eyes and light hair. He signed with "Andrew Anema".

In January 1920 Andrew S Anema (29, Iowa, single, auto trimmer), his father J A Anema (59, immigrated in 1889, furniture packer at a moving company), his mother D J Anema (60, immigrated in 1889), his sister Hilda (22) and brother Charles (18, Michigan, auto driver at a motor delivery company) were living in a rented home at still 1590 South Emerson Street in South Denver, Colorado.

In April 1930 Andrew S Anema (40, single, trimmer in the automobile industry), his father Jay A Anema (69, immigrated in 1889, packer in the storage industry) and his mother Dora J (70, immigrated in 1889) were still living in the neighborhood of Little Holland in South Denver, at 1637 South Emerson Street, in a rented house.

On 17 February 1931 the 41 years old single Andrew S Anema returned on the S.S. Nieuw Amsterdam from the Netherlands at the port of New York, Ellis Island, still residing at 1637 South Emerson Street, Denver.

On 17 December 1931 the 41 years old Andrew Seerp Anema, son of Jelle Annes Anema and Dirkje Johanna van Os, married in the municipality and seat of Everdingen, in the extreme south of the Dutch central province Utrecht, the ten years younger Lena van Os, born in the village of Zuilichem, located in the utter west of the Dutch central and east province Gelderland, daughter of Johannes Dirk van Os and Jannigje Gersi.
Although Andrew's mother was a Van Os too, Lena van Os was not related to him.

On 18 February 1936 Andrew S. Anema (45, Orange City) returned again from the Netherlands at the port of New York, Ellis Island, on the S.S. Black Osprey, together with his wife Lena (35, Holland, Zuilichem) and their children Joy A. (3, born 8 November 1932, Denver) and Jannigje L. (1, 27 July 1935, Hilversum [province Utrecht]). They resided then at 1845 Emerson Street in Little Holland, South Denver, Colorado.

In April 1940 Andrew S Anema (50, worker at a trunk factory), his wife Lena (39, Holland), their children Jay A (7, Colorado), Lena (5, Holland [married Rowe]) and Andrew S [Joy] (3, Colorado) were living in a rented house at 1581 So Clarkson Street in the neighborhood of Little Holland in South Denver, Colorado. They lived in 1935 in the city of Hilversum, located in the center of the Netherlands, where daughter Lena was born.

On 5 November 1942 Andrew Seerp Anema (52 y, working at Coleman Motor Corporation in Littleton, Colorado) was living with his wife Lena Van Os at still 1581 So Clarkson Street in the Little Holland neighborhood in South Denver, Colorado, when he was administrated on a WW II Draft Registration Card. He was 6 ft 2 inches tall, weighed 195 pounds, had a light complexion, blue eyes and brown hair. He signed with: "Andrew Seerp Anema".

Andrew S Anema died in July 1956 at the age of 66 years in Seattle, Washington, where his son Jay Andrew Anema was living with his family. His widow Lena died there too, in May 1998, at the age of 98 years.
It's quite likely that they were both buried in the same cemetery at Seattle as their son Jay did.
