Edward Nitko,59, of Port Murray, NJ passed away peacefully after a short illness on December 13, 2015.

Edward was born on May 10, 1956 to Edward and Vera (Butrica) Nitko in Plainfield, NJ.

Eddy was a country man full of genuine love and happiness. His sense of humor was almost as large as his heart. He took the world by storm on his many adventures in his hot rods, trucks, and bikes. The last twenty-five years of his life was spent working at the NJ transit. His hobbies included trains, hot rods, barbecuing, spending time with his family, friends and dogs, and telling all of his famous stories about the past. He will be truly missed by those who survived him.

In addition to his mother, Edward is survived by his wife Cheryl (Faria) Nitko; two daughters Jennifer Cicala and her husband Rob Lin, Nicole Lipinski and her husband Adam; a son Jerry Cicala; two sisters Marsha Nitko, Elaine and her husband Tom Eroh; a brother in law Fred Faria; grandchildren Ethan and Dylan Fratella, Chloe and Jaxon Lin and one on the way; nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be held on December 17, 2015 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 W Washington Ave. Washington, NJ. A funeral service will be held at 3 pm.

Memorials can be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude's Place Memphis, TN 38105.
