Mansa was the daughter of Presley P. and Jemima A. (Goodman) Boyer.  She married John S. Mills on 5 May 1886 in Edgar County, Illinois.  After John's death, she married James M. Ballentyne and they were living in Portland, Oregon at the time of James' death in 1916.

MRS. MANSA BALLENTYNE
OF CHARLESTON DIES

Charleston, Ill., June 13. – Mrs. Mansa Ballentyne, long time resident of Charleston, died about 2:15 o'clock Sunday morning at her home.  Death was due to a complication of ailments.  She had been ill for more than two months.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the Kansas Presbyterian church.  Burial will be in the Kansas cemetery.

Mrs. Ballentyne was about 75 years old.  She leaves her husband, a niece, Miss Thelma Boyer, and a nephew, Charles Boyer, of Charleston.

Note - Although the obituary states she was survived by her husband, she was actually a widow as indicated on her death certificate.
