Benjamin Fort died at his residence on Franklin street on yesterday
afternoon, of dropsy. An operation had been performed on him for that complaint during the afternoon, from tho effects of which he did not rally.
Mr. Fort was born in Virginia in 1803, and had been a resident of Henry county since 1822. He was highly esteemed as a gentle man and a citizen. The funeral will occur at the Friends church on
Sunday at 10:30 o'clock a. m. - Banner, (5th.inst.)
