He was retired from Southern Pacific Railroad in Roseville where he worked for 40 years. J.D. was an avid hunter and fisherman all his life.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, his son, and 2 daughters. J.D. is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy; 7 sisters and 3 brothers.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Sierra View Mortuary in Olivehurst. Graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Sierra View Memorial Park.
