"OBITUARIES.
Phebe Pearl Hobday.
GALT. Services were held today in the Galt Mission Chapel for Mrs. Phebe Pearl Hobday, 72, former teacher.
Interment was in the Galt Cemetery.
She was a native of Madera County and was raised in Lodi, San Joaquin County.
She taught in elementary schools in the Galt area for about 18 years beginning in 1913, including the Arno, Clay, Brown, Galt, Herald, and Twin Cities Schools. She was a member of the Colony Ladies Aid of Alta Mesa and the Galt Christian Church.
The family requests that any remembrance be sent to the California Christian Home in San Gabriel, Los Angeles County, through the Galt Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, William C.; sons, Harold William and Donald W.; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Ross, six grandchildren all of Galt, and a half brother, Clinton Harlon [Harlan] of Modesto, Stanislaus County."
