Funeral service for James E. Greear will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder Chapel with Rev. Kevin Akins officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Park Cemetery under the direction of the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder. James E. Greear, age 87, died Wednesday, December 9, 2015 in Wichita Falls, Texas. James was born June 10, 1928 at Cold Springs, Oklahoma, to Leslie and Eula (Irvin) Greear. He married Eunia Hand on October 22, 1947 in Texas. James was self employed as a roofer from 1962 until his retirement in 1998. He pastored the Mountain Park Assembly of God Church and the Geronimo Assembly of God Church in the 1970’s. He was a self taught musician who could play almost any instrument including the guitar, banjo, violin and the piano. He and Eunia often sang at the nursing homes in Hobart and Snyder until his health began to fail. James was well versed in the Bible and almost every discussion with him included quoting verses from the Bible. He loved to fish and had always wanted to be a farmer and even tried a few times in the late 50’s and early 60’s. He is survived by his wife, of the home; four children, Cordelia Fannin, Del City, Oklahoma, Sharon DeWitt and husband Irwin, Wichita Falls, Texas, David Greear and wife Dona and Gary Greear all of Mountain Park; nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren; a sister, Jewel King, Lawton; a brother, Homer Greear, Lawton; numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, brothers, Enos, Jerry, Johnny, Richard and Larry, sisters, Ruth, Dorothy and Helen and a son in law, Robert Fannin, preceded him in death.
