Barbary June Moody Schneidewend, “Punky” known by her original family members, was age 76, when she passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Monday, December 7, 2015, after a long battle with Leukemia.

She was born on November 6, 1939, to Willie Holmes Sr. and Annie Inez Moody in Crocketville, South Carolina.

She met the love of her life, Jerry Schneidewend, at the roller rink in Columbia, SC in 1960. After marrying in April of 1961, they lived in Albuquerque, NM. With Jerry being an active military officer, they lived in numerous locations including Okinawa, Denver, Phoenix, Las Vegas and even England. They eventually settled in Utah with their son and daughter in 1976, living in Hill Air Force Base housing until purchasing their home in Hooper, where they have lived ever since.

She was an active member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ogden, since her and Jerry joined in 1977.

Bobbi loved traveling with Jerry across the country in their motor home, enjoying their retirement and often spending months on the road and visiting relatives in South Carolina and Wisconsin. Our family has many wonderful memories of trips in the motor home to California, Las Vegas and even a three week road trip to New York.

Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life, with many children who were friends of the family also referring to her as “Grandma Bobbi”. Even when her health made it difficult for her to get around, she always made an effort to attend every special event in her grandchildren’s lives.

Christmas was an especially memorable time at Grandma Bobbi’s, as she went to great effort to maintain traditions and create special memories for her entire family.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Willie Holmes Sr. and Annie Inez Moody; sisters: Bette McGraw (Willard) and Rebecca Moody (Leslie Scott); and brother, Willie Holmes “Billy” Moody Jr. (Barbara).

Surviving are her husband, Gerald Schneidewend; her brother, Benny Moody (Rachel); son, Greg (Judy); daughter, Ginger (Craig Ziebach); nine grandchildren: Katrina, Christopher, John, Teresa, David, Britni, Abigail, Jacob and Emily; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 3329 Harrison Blvd., Ogden, with a viewing prior at 1:00 p.m. The family will meet with friends Sunday, December 13th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
