Obit:
John Robert Stanley, Sr. 76, Lawrence, Kansas, formerly of Fairway, died yesterday at St. Joseph Hospital. Mr. Stanley lived most of his life in the Kansas City, Kansas area. He was a telegraph operator 43 yrs. for Wilson & Co before he retired in 1956 and was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Roeland Park. Surviving are a son, John R. Stanley, Jr of Lawrence; 3 daughters, Mrs. Mary V. Swanson-Denver; Miss Aileen Stanley, Cape Kennedy, FL and Miss Betty Jean Stanley-Olathe, KS; a sister, Mrs. Ester M Roberts, 517 W 85 Terr and 14 grandchildren. Services will be held at 7:45 pm Monday at the Gates Chapel, and at 8:15 PM at the church; burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The Rosary will be said at 7:30 PM Sunday night at the Chapel, where friends may call after 2 PM.
