John Baptist Thomas, 79, 704 1/2 Scott Street, died last evening at 6 o'clock at the local hospital following an illness of four weeks. Funeral services will be held Monday Morning at 8:30 o'clock at the Ritter & Deutsch funeral home and at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic church, with Rt. Rev. Msgr. H. P. Toeller officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. The body is at the funeral home.
The deceased was born February 8, 1864, in Germany and came to America in 1882, locating here that year. He was married here to Anna Schrankel, who died June 13, 1930. The deceased was a retired molder.
Surviving are two sons, Henry Thomas, 703 Jackson Street, and George Thomas, Palo Alto, Cal.; three daughters, Miss Leona Thomas, 530 Nina Avenue, Mrs. Herbert Searing, 704 1/2 Scott Street, and Mrs. Elmer Wohlfahrt, Palo Alto; a brother, Michael Thomas, 1104 N. Third Avenue, and a sister, Mrs. Frances Schneider, 308 1/2 S. First Avenue.
